Collier County Clean Up

About two weeks ago, Collier County had a coastal clean up day.  Since I photograph family portraits at the beach often, I really wanted to participate in "clean up day".  I hate bringing families down to the beach and having to clean up the area before we get started.  It is embarrassing that people can't clean up after themselves when they leave the beach.  Who wants empty cans or bottles in their photograph?  So, this was a project dear to my heart.  I woke my family up early to help me.  We got to Lowdermilk Park around 8:30 am.  We were given gloves, garbage bags and a t-shirt.  We were off to pick up trash.  We found many things to fill our bags, like fishing line, bottles, caps, pastic utensils, shovels, cigarette butts, paper, plastic bags and even a large metal pipe.  I am very thankful that my family took the time to help me.  I am also thankful for all the other groups of people that helped clean-up the many different beaches from Marco to North Naples.
